Bob Wood of Wood Trucking to be Honored with the Harry Ankeles Community Service award

The Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce (PACC) will present the 2013 Harry Ankeles Community Service award to Robert (Bob) Wood, owner of Wood Trucking Corporation. Mr. Wood was selected by the Chamber’s community service committee based on his involvement in the community and willingness to lend a hand to benefit the greater good. A businessman who employs a number of Peabody residents, he is willing to take risks to help others as well as share his time to help someone get back on the right track. He volunteers his time and resources to help make Peabody shine, from landscaping or mulch for one of the public schools or weeds that need to be removed from a city street. In addition, Bob is willing to help many youth and non-profit organizations throughout the city, and if someone is in need, he can be counted on to help and assistance without hesitation.

In the words of Martha Holden, chairperson of the PACC’s community service committee, “Bob demonstrates a selfless commitment to Peabody that is very rare. Few people realize that over many years Bob has volunteered countless hours of his time and his expertise to make the City of Peabody a safer and more attractive place to live and work. People like Bob are those that make Peabody a great place in which to live, work and raise a family.”
